What if a student doesn't turn up for a lesson?
So, you're sitting, waiting to go for your lesson and your student hasn't turned up. What do you do?
Well firstly, don't worry, you're still getting paid. In fact, you're going to get paid in full. But there a few steps we expect that you follow- below...
Is this a student's first session with you?
Find the family information by clicking on the student name

You can access the parent info by clicking on the parent name in Blue (eg. Test Test)

In all cases when a student is not in the Lessonspace please follow these steps:
Call the student family and let the know you are in the Lessonspace and ask if you can help them access the lesson.
No answer? Send a text indicating you have sent them a link to the space again to check their email and that you are on the phone if they need help/ support to access.
Send an email to the family with the Lessonspace Link. (See below for instructions)
Keep the Lessonspace open until the end of the session in order to be paid
If a student shows up late you are not obliged to give some extra time, although you are welcome to.
If the student did not show up AT ALL. Send the following email to check in on the family.
Kia ora (name),
I hope everything is okay at home. (Student) was scheduled for a lesson with me this evening at (Insert Time). When he/she didn't arrive I checked in in the following ways:
Called you/ the student and sent a text
Emailed the link to the lesson incase you coiuldn't access
Waited in the space in case (student) was late
I have attached some materials in this email about what we planned to work on. I look forward to seeing you next week.
