Using the Co-Browser Feature to Work Live on Websites with a Student
Objective
This SOP explains how to access and use the Co-Browser feature to work through online activities with a student in real time. It enables the team member to open any website, collaborate live, and guide the student using tools like clicking, answering, and highlighting.
Key Steps
1. Open the Co-Browser tool from Organisation Files

Navigate to Organisation Files.
Select Co-Browser to launch the feature.
Confirm the tool is open before proceeding to a website.
2. Enter the website or activity link you want to use

Paste or type in the website URL you want to work on.
You can use a full website or a specific activity link.
Choose a resource that is useful for the student and the lesson objective.
3. Load the activity and begin working together live

Wait for the website to load inside the Co-Browser.
Explain to the student that you will complete the activity together.
Use the shared view to stay on the same page and move through the task in real time.
4. Interact with the activity using the mouse tool

Read the question or prompt on the screen.
Click in the answer field using the mouse tool.
Enter the response and press Submit.
Continue guiding the student through each question as needed.
5. Review answers carefully before submitting

Double-check the wording of the question before answering.
Make sure the response matches exactly what is being asked.
If needed, correct the answer and resubmit.
Use this step to model careful reading and accuracy for the student.
6. Use highlighting to draw attention to important details

Highlight key parts of the question or answer area.
Point out important wording that may affect the response.
Use highlighting to explain why an answer may be incorrect.
This helps the student focus on the relevant information.
7. Reattempt the question with guided support

If the answer is incorrect, explain the issue clearly.
Ask the student to try again after reviewing the prompt.
Return to the mouse tool and enter the corrected answer.
Continue supporting the student until the task is completed.
8. Continue using Co-Browser for future online activities

Use Co-Browser for other online lessons and activities as needed.
Remember that it can be used on any website on the internet.
Keep it in mind as a tool for live, collaborative instruction.
Cautionary Notes
Ensure the website or activity link is appropriate and safe before opening it.
Be careful to read prompts exactly as written; small wording differences can change the correct answer.
If the student is working live with you, avoid rushing through questions without checking understanding.
Make sure the Co-Browser is accessed from the correct location in Organisation Files.
Tips for Efficiency
Prepare the website link in advance so you can launch the activity quickly.
Use highlighting to reduce repeated explanations and direct attention faster.
Model the process once, then let the student attempt the next item with support.
Keep the mouse tool ready so you can move between explanation and action smoothly.
