Diagnostic Assessment in Literacy

Service Description

This service will give you an in depth understanding about your child's strengths and skill gaps in reading, writing and spelling This in depth learning assessment paints a clear picture about the following: -Reading age and NZC Level -Reading strategies for decoding -Comprehension skills in reading -Ability to structure reading responses using evidence from a text Spelling (One of the following assessments will be adminitered) -Phonics Analysis (content knowledge of phonemes/graphemes required for spelling) -Spelling rule analysis (application of spelling rules in multi-syllabic words) -Morpheme analysis (application of prefix, suffix and rootword rules) Writing In depth writing analysis focusing on -Ideas -Organisation -Sentence structure -Punctuation -Grammar -Spelling -Vocabulary This assessment will provide you with a clear picture of your child's current literacy profile and an action plan of steps to advance their learning in literacy. The assessment in conducted by a highly experienced literacy specialist teacher and takes around an hour to administer. We then analyse the data we collected and write a complete report on your child.
